Workshop - One Day Leather Bag Group
Suitable for beginners or for people with some experience, on this one day course you have a choice of four different designs to make (satchel, backpack, saddle bag or curve bag).
The course will begin with students learning the basic leather skills (or refreshing your memory of them) by firstly learning and practicing how to hand stitch leather. You will learn marking out, choosing appropriate leather, hand saddle stitching and edge finishing.
Following this everyone will make one unlined leather bag. You will work from a prepared patterns, there is a choice of designs (you can see examples of these in the images) and you can choose from our range of leathers to have your own bespoke colour combinations and make small alterations such as changing stitch colour, choosing the buckles, etc. so your finished bag will be unique to you. There will be a maximum of 5 people on a workshop, so groups are kept small, with plenty of help available.
Course runs from 9.30am – 5pm with a break for lunch. An individual packed lunch from our local tea rooms and tea and coffee included in the price. All leather and fittings are included in the price.

Constructing a 3 dimensional bag
Cutting and making a strap
Riveting
Finish edges (burnishing)
Attaching a buckle
If you would like to make a different design from the ones shown please see the one day private workshop, or the two day group workshops.
You can select an available date from the list or buy a gift voucher and choose a date later.
If you would prefer to pay a deposit of £75 and the balance of £100 on the day of the workshop please email sarah@williamshandmade.com. If you have a group of 4 or more people who would like to attend together we can set a date for you and you all receive 10% off.
